Fort Worth, TX — June 23, 2015 — Staff and volunteers from Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County and TXU Energy will deliver food and energy-efficient nightlights to more than 3,000 Tarrant County residents in a combined effort to help homebound seniors remain safe and comfortable through the summer. As part of the program, 89-year-old, blind, Meals On Wheels client, Wanda, will receive a new washer and dryer to replace her 40-year-old units (the washer recently broke) that consume excess electricity and add unwanted heat to her home.
10:00 a.m. – Appliances delivered/installed.
10:30 a.m. — Volunteers will deliver food to Wanda, who will have just received a new washer/dryer. Wanda will be available for interview. Wanda is extremely excited about the new appliances and the care she receives from Meals On Wheels & TXU Energy.
