JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Entry level position for Dietetic Technician Registered or Registered/Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist or RD eligible candidate
  • Experienced in institutional food service, employee management and training, food purchasing, and menu writing
  • Specialized training in foodservice sanitation and safety
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Exceptional customer service skills and communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time managements skills
  • Ability to jump from multiple tasks on any given day in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • ServSafe Manager Certification required within 3 months of hire
  • Available to work M-F with some flex or extended hours for special events

JOB DUTIES:

  • Work with kitchen managers to resolve any food handling, storage, or quality concerns
  • Write cycle menus to meet tight budgetary restrictions and state nutrient requirements
  • Collaborate with contract food service company on menu changes, product availability, and costing
  • Ensure maintenance of time temperature at production and distribution sites for food safety
  • Lead weekly meetings with contract foodservice staff
  • Respond to client calls, complaints, and dietary needs
  • Coordinate delivery of meals with volunteers and agency staff
  • Provide written and verbal nutrition education to case managers and clients
  • Order nutritional supplements and meal delivery supplies
  • Serve as preceptor with interns
  • Perform other duties and tasks as needed to support the agency mission
