Reports To: Manager Strategic Marketing and Communications
Supervises: No supervisory responsibilities
Committees: Marketing committee and other committees as assigned
Other Relationships: Works closely with community representatives, event sponsors, volunteer committees, and staff. Meet as necessary with members of the Board of Directors in areas relating to fundraising, marketing, public relations, etc. to implement fundraising, special events, marketing and public relations goals
Remuneration: Reimbursement of expenses related to carrying out duties in accordance with approved agency policies
Position Overview: Tactical fulfillment of marketing, public relations, fundraising, and special events
The Community Engagement Coordinator works with community representatives, event sponsors, volunteer committees, and staff to plan and execute numerous fundraising and educational events each year. This individual also supports the marketing team with general agency marketing and promotions. The ability to build and nurture relationships with key donors and sponsors is critically important in this role. In addition to event planning, the Community Engagement Coordinator will perform tactical fulfillment of event marketing campaigns and other marketing initiatives as assigned.
This staff position also assists with marketing fairs as well as presentations to corporations, social and civic groups, and faith-based organizations. As part of the Marketing and Development Department, employees are involved in email and social media marketing efforts, website content design and development, and creative design of marketing materials such as brochures, posters, flyers, direct mail, newsletters, sponsor packets, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Hospitality or other related field required; five years of relevant experience may be substituted for education
- Prior major event coordination experience preferred
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills a must
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Above average interpersonal communication skills, including excellent group presentation and relationship management skills
- Highly-motivated individual that excels both as an individual contributor and in a team environment
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
- Working knowledge of computer operations and software products including Word, Excel, ACCESS, and Outlook
- Proficiency with email marketing tools such as Constant Contact
- Experience in social media marketing
- Must be comfortable with public speaking and presentations
- Must be comfortable contacting individuals by phone and in person
- Must be able to lift, load and unload 40 lbs
- Experience with photography, photojournalism, and video editing a plus.
