Position Description:  Coordinator of Volunteer Scheduling

Full Time:  Hours 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

 

The Coordinator of Volunteer Scheduling is responsible for scheduling volunteers for meal delivery to Meals On Wheels clients in Tarrant County and leads the volunteer advisory council for their area. The scheduler assists the Volunteer Services department in all areas of volunteer recruitment, training, recognition, and special events.

ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS:

  • Schedule volunteers for meal delivery in designated part of Tarrant County and find substitute drivers when regular meal delivery volunteers are unavailable.
  • Ensure all meals delivery routes have been picked up by volunteers daily.
  • Assist with new volunteer orientation and training. Speak with new volunteers at orientation to assign them to routes, if available. Train volunteer drivers by arranging a training route with a seasoned volunteer or staff member.
  • Keep up-to-date records of volunteer activities for daily, monthly, and annual reports.
  • Plan advisory council meetings and activities for the council members.
  • Assist with new client placement and delivery route management.
  • Assist with special projects such as volunteer recognition events, holiday gift deliveries for clients and site visits.
  • Clerical duties and filing.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Must pass Agency background and insurance verification check initially and at random intervals.
  • Must be able to lift, load, unload, and carry 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate in a pleasant manner by phone, orally, and in writing with volunteers, clients and staff.
  • Detail oriented with superior computer proficiency with Microsoft Products – Outlook, Word, Excel, Access.
  • Must have experience in managing volunteers.
