Position Overview: The Routing Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and creating all the delivery routes that are delivered through Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County. The three main programs that need routing are for the Home Delivered Meals Program, the Supplemental Nutrition Program and Congregate Meal Program. This position will work closely with the Scheduling Coordinators, Supplemental Nutrition Program Coordinator and the Client Services department to ensure that the routes are optimized by time and geographic locations. This position is also responsible for placing clients when they their meal programs or address changes. This position is responsible for rearranging routes to keep them under certain delivery times and if areas get too large, creating new routes.
Paid As: Hourly, Non-Exempt Full-Time Employee
Hours of Operation: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM Friday
Reports To: Vice President Volunteer Services
Other Relationships: Works with the Volunteer Services department, Operations department, Nutrition department, Meals On Wheels Board Members, Community Volunteers and Meals On Wheels clients.

- Support the mission, vision and goals of Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County
- Represent Meals On Wheels in a professional manner at all times
- Must have dependable transportation, valid driver license and personal vehicle insurance as required by the State of Texas
- Required to pass criminal background check and have a free and clear MVR
- Assist with meal delivery when volunteer callouts make it necessary for staff to deliver
- Contribute to other projects when necessary
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS
- Read maps and understand Mapsco
- Understand the different programs in the Agency and how clients are placed for those programs
- Maintain responsibility of assigned duties
- Keep track of data to create reports
- Data entry and working in the Client Database
- Attend Volunteer Council Meetings as needed
- Work the Annual Volunteer Appreciation Festival
- Cross-train and fill in on Schedulers desks when needed
- Able to work and communicate with volunteers to keep routes optimal
- Effectively communicate and work with people throughout the Agency to ensure that clients are on the appropriate routes
- Multitask and prioritize action items by urgency
- Work positively in a fast-paced environment with the understanding that changes occur often
- Manage change in a professional and positive manner
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
REQUIREMENTS
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and Outlook
- Able to lift and carry objects of 25 pounds
- Physically able to reach, stretch, bend and sit for several hours at a time
