Position Overview: The Volunteer Recruitment Coordinators are community liaisons for recruiting volunteers for the Agency. This position is responsible for maintaining contact with the Tarrant County community and generating leads to recruit volunteers through community occasions such as events, festivals and oversight of the Friend to Friend program.

 

Paid As: Hourly, Non-Exempt Full-Time Employee

Hours of Operation: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM Friday

Reports To: Vice President Volunteer Services

Other Relationships: Works with the Volunteer Services department, Operations department, Client Services department, Meals On Wheels Board Members, Community Volunteers and Meals On Wheels clients.

AGENCY EXPECTATION OF EMPLOYEE

  • Maintain confidentiality of client, donor, volunteer, staff and board information
  • Support the mission, vision and goals of Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County
  • Represent Meals On Wheels in a professional manner at all times
  • Must have dependable transportation, valid driver license and personal vehicle insurance as required by the State of Texas
  • Required to pass criminal background check and have a free and clear MVR
  • Assist with meal delivery when volunteer callouts make it necessary for staff to deliver
  • Contribute to other projects when necessary

 

ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS

  • Create training materials and conduct volunteer orientations for the Friend to Friend program
  • Match friend to friend clients with volunteers and facilitate introductions
  • Maintain volunteer records for the friend to friend program
  • Community liaison for volunteer recruitment for the Agency
  • Generate leads to recruit volunteers through contact with businesses, faith-based organizations, civic groups and community networking
  • Attend the Agency’s information booth at events and festivals to recruit volunteers
  • Coordinate and work with volunteers to assist staffing recruiting events
  • Able to find solutions with limited resources using knowledge of volunteer management
  • Leverages networks and interpersonal skills to influence outcomes
  • Responding to inquiries from individuals interested in volunteering
  • Network with groups outside the Agency to aid with volunteer recruitment
  • Maintain recruiting records and follow up with correspondence on contacts
  • Cross-train and fill in for Scheduling Coordinator’s duties, as necessary
  • Assist Volunteer Services department with planning volunteer appreciation events
  • Meal delivery on client routes, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by Vice President Volunteer Services

 

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years recruiting, marketing, and/or talent acquisition experience in a small business/non-profit environment
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and Outlook
  • Organized, proactive, solution-focused, good interpersonal skills, works independently, confident
  • Strong knowledge of talent acquisition best practice and protocol
  • Able to lift and carry objects of 25 pounds
  • Capable of moving meeting room tables and chairs, as needed
  • Physically able to reach, stretch, bend and sit for several hours at a time

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant experience or knowledge and skills preferred
  • Expertise using professional networks, online communities and social media
