Title: VICE PRESIDENT OF CLIENT SERVICES & CLIENT ASSISTANCEĀ PROGRAMS
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Full-time Exempt
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
Reports To: President/CEO
Supervises: Currently a team of 14 employees and occasional interns
Other Relationships: Works with all Meals On Wheels departments, Meals On Wheels Board Members, Board Client Services Committee, Community Volunteers, Meals On Wheels clientele, and Tarrant County community including vendor relationships.

Position’s Role Summary:
Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County is seeking a Full-Time Vice President of Client Services & Client Assistance Programs. This position will plan, direct, administer and evaluate all aspects of the Client Services and Client Assistance Programs in order to meet requirements of funding resources and state agencies. The VP will assure program compliance with relevant federal, state and local policies, regulations and procedures. This position is responsible for overall operation of the Client Services department.

Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out the overall vision and strategic plan for the Client Services department
  • Supervise all members of the Client Services & Assistance Department
  • Develop guidelines for providing services in response to disaster or emergency situations
  • Work effectively with Board of Directors’ Client Services Committee
  • Serve as the lead spokesperson and ambassador for Client Services, representing the Agency at the highest levels to prospective partners and customers
  • Be a part of Administration Management Team and attend staff meetings
  • Handle emergencies such as clients who may be suddenly hurt or sick, consult case managers concerning difficult cases, etc.
  • Screen applicants for job openings and hire case managers and client service program staff with President’s approval
  • Assist in training Case Management and Client Service staff
  • Revise Case Manager training handbook as needed
  • Prepare various reports such as client and efficiency statistics, etc.
  • Help develop new programs for Client Services and Client Assistance
  • Work with the Client Services and Client Assistance Committees chairs to prepare meeting agendas and inform committee of programs and needs
  • Plan monthly staff meeting and staff development
  • Educate the community about the Agency and all its programs
  • Attend community meetings to represent the Agency
  • Provide monthly reports on Client Services and Assistance programs and statistics
  • Audit department staff time sheets and mileage reimbursement requests
  • Read new client files, denied client files, and 25% of recertified client files for accuracy
  • Spot check, through reviewing computer entries, etc. to determine that every case manager has made visits claimed on timesheets and mileage reimbursement requests
  • Perform any assignments delegated by President

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years experience. Bachelor’s degree Social Work or related field a must and advanced degrees a plus
  • Minimum 2 years experience in supervising staff
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to pass criminal background check
  • Must maintain valid driver’s license, clean driving record, vehicular insurance, and reliable vehicle
  • Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs
  • Physically able to climb stairs, repeated get in and out of a vehicle, reach, stretch, bend, and sit for long periods of time

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the needs of persons who are homebound and disabled
  • Knowledge of personnel management and labor relations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
  • Ability to assess program needs, develop long range goals, and annual objectives
  • Ability to utilize technology to improve program quality, service and efficiency
  • Ability to apply the principles of financial management in the development and monitoring of annual program budget.
  • Ability to train and supervise staff to carry out mission of the Agency
  • Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to apply a variety of problem solving and conflict resolution techniques to successfully manage organizational or program change
  • Knowledge and ability to support mission of the Agency

Agency Responsibilities – shared by all Staff members

  • Maintain confidentiality of client, donor, volunteer, staff and board information
  • Support the mission, vision and goals of Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County
  • Must have dependable transportation, valid driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance as required by the State of Texas
  • Assist with other projects when necessary
