September 7, 2017 — Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez will be honored at the Legends Luncheon, benefiting Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County. The Legends Luncheon recognizes the accomplishments of Texans who have demonstrated outstanding character through their actions and community involvement. Ivan Rodriguez was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on July 30, 2017. He is considered one of the best defensive catchers of all time. During his 21-year career, he earned 13 Gold Gloves and 7 Silver Sluggers. He was voted an All-Star 14 times, named the 1999 American League MVP and 2003 NLCS MVP. Mr. Rodriguez has a strong commitment to the community. He frequently supports organizations in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Detroit, Miami and his native Puerto Rico.
The Legends Luncheon will highlight the accomplishments of Rodriguez who continuously gives back to the community. The event will also include Chuck Morgan, Texas Rangers Executive Vice President of Ballpark Entertainment and Productions, and Hal Jay, host of the WBAP Morning News, who are sure to entertain guests. The event is an annual fundraiser for Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County.
