November 29, 2017 — TARRANT COUNTY COLLEGE STUDENTS GIVE BACK BY DECORATING DOORS OF MEALS ON WHEELS CLIENTS IN AMELIA PARC SENIOR LIVING COMMUNITY. Students from Tarrant County College’s Beta Psi organization will decorate Meals On Wheels clients’ doors for the holiday. Teams of Beta Psi students will decorate doors in the Amelia Parc Senior Living Community beginning at 11:00 a.m on Friday, December 1, 2017. The wreaths they will use were crafted by participants in the A Step Beyond program at Tarrant County College’s South Campus. The program teaches flower arranging skills to intellectually or developmentally challenged students.
Each year thousands of our elderly and disabled neighbors spend the holidays alone. In an effort to combat isolation, Meals On Wheels teams up with individuals and organizations to ensure that our homebound elderly and disabled clients will have a brighter holiday. During December, Meals On Wheels clients will also receive holiday gifts like blankets, slippers, or gloves that have been donated by volunteers and other caring people in the community. Together, we want to ensure that no client feels forgotten this holiday season.
