Bilingual Case Manager

Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County provides approximately 3,700 meals a day all over Tarrant County. The caseworkers provide direct care for 2,400 clients and execute nearly 15,000 home visits a year, performing activities such as intakes, recertifications, reassurance visits, delivering meals, and other activities and services as needed.

The caseworker position requires a four year university degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or related field. (S)he needs to be bilingual in Spanish/English. (S)he is responsible for providing care and services for Meals On Wheels clients. The caseworker will also work with other departments within the agency (i.e. Marketing, Volunteer, Operations, Property, and Nutrition) to help facilitate client needs. Experience is preferred but not required. Bilingual in Spanish and English is also a plus. The position is 40 hours per week and includes health insurance (agency pays 75%, employee pays 25%), mileage reimbursement, cell phone allowance, and retirement after two calendar years. Duties include:Perform intakes on prospective clients.

  • Deliver meals to clients (this is often done several times a week).
  • Perform triannual recertification visits.
  • Execute reassurance visits as needed.
  • Deliver items such as wheelchairs, rollators, walkers, canes, shower chairs, supplemental food, toiletries, and other helpful resources that benefit clients.
  • Perform well-checks on clients that may have fallen or are injured.
