August 10, 2017 — Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County will deliver its 20 millionth meal on Friday, August 11, 2017. To create awareness of the momentous delivery, Meals On Wheels will stage the production of the 20 millionth meal with elected officials and business leaders manning the food preparation line in the central kitchen, which on average produces 3,700 meals per day. A special delivery of the 20 millionth meal will then be made to a client who resides close to the facility, located at 5740 Airport Freeway, Haltom City, TX 76117.
Meals on Wheels answers a huge need in the community every weekday by providing fresh, nutritious meals, and a wide variety of other services, to the homebound elderly and disabled residents of Tarrant County. From humble beginnings, serving just 25 meals each day, to the current distribution of nearly one million meals each year, we are excited to share this milestone with the community.
